(Tipmas) Coffee or Wine?

As I sit down to write today’s blogpost, I am finding that today has been a busy day, zooms, plans for more zooms, snow (and more snow)…and my original plan for today’s blog post has been moved back a day. I’ll be back tomorrow with more practical tips. RIght now, I just want to sit back and ponder one of the eternal questions for quilters.

If I had the perfect sewing space (which I am convinced does not exist), then would it include a wine bar or a coffee station? I work out of my house, and it’s literally steps from either option for me, but indulge me for a bit. If you could have one, which would you pick?

I tend to be a creative person in the mornings (although not every morning, obviously!) and coffee is a natural way for me to wake up. Ask any male who has ever lived with me, and they will confirm that.

Truthfully, I tend to not have anything to eat or to drink in my sewing space. I don’t like my fingers dirty (I never have, you could ask my mother), and I am paranoid about spilling anything near a machine or on fabric.

If I could put one or the other in, it would probably be a wine fridge - if only because it sounds cooler than I will ever be. I have taken a class with a teacher who swears that wine helps your free motion quilting - something I’ll be looking into in the next week or so (and I’ll report back, all in the name of science.). Until then, are you on #teamcoffee or #teamwine? Inquiring minds want to know.

Today’s Tip - This year, of all years, our sewing spaces will be a source of comfort and respite from the world. Make your space as nice as you possibly can for You. You are worth it, I promise.
